Our History Our History

Originally formed in the early 1980’s as the Reddish And District JFL and incorporated the Droylsden JFL and became the EMJFL in 2008.

We are proud to boast that we are one of the few FA Charter Standard Leagues in the Manchester area and work closely with Manchester County FA Development Team to help promote junior grass roots football in our part of the country. In April 2012 we were selected by the FA as Regional Winners of The Respect  Awards gaining Silver, by gaining Silver we were then put forward to the National respect Campaign of which we achieved the FA's highest Award for a League The GOLD Respect Award. The information regarding this achievement can be found at the followwing link http://www.manchesterfa.com/news/2012/apr/the-fa-reveal-respect-gold-award-winners

We run age groups from Under 7’s through to Under 13’s varying from 5v5 to 9v9. Our motto is “putting kids first” and this ethos holds true to everything we try to do, the future of football in this country lies in the way we introduce, coach and develop the undoubted young talent that we possess. As a League we hope to facilitate this development by providing our Member Clubs with a safe and well organised environment to play in, using the very best venues, with full referee coverage of matches and an enjoyment level second to none.
